Over ten days which spanned into last week, riders and horses brought a mochila with mail from St. Joseph Missouri to Sacramento, California. This journey across 8 states followed the original Pony Express trail.
The Pony Express was developed in 1860 as a faster way to get mail to the west of the U.S. but was eventually replaced with the telegraph.
