Convention over the Years
The National Pony Express Association (NPEA) Annual Convention is a gathering that brings together trail riders, historians, and enthusiasts to preserve the legacy of the 1860โ1861 mail delivery system. Rotating to a different trail state each year, the event features key business meetings, state division reports, and historical presentations. It serves as a vital planning hub for the association’s annual 1,966-mile Re-Ride event, ensuring that the history of the legendary frontier mail service remains alive and accurately remembered. The 2027 National Pony Express Association Convention will be held in Casper, Wyoming.

Re-Ride over the Years
The National Pony Express Annual Re-Ride is a 10-day, 24-hour-a-day endurance event that recreates the historic 1,966-mile mail delivery route between Sacramento, California, and St. Joseph, Missouri. Every June, hundreds of volunteer riders from the National Pony Express Association take turns carrying a traditional leather mochila stuffed with actual, commemorative mail. This massive logistical feat closely follows the original, rugged frontier trail, keeping America’s rich wild-west heritage alive through active historical reenactment.
