2026 NPEA Convention Report:

The 2026 Convention was held Sept. 11-12 at Hastings, Nebraska. Nebraska proved to be a grand host! The Prairie Loft venue was quaint, convenient and rustic, just the ticket for NPEA.

Delegates from each State Division plus National Officers and members were in attendance. Thursday night’s reception of pizza at the hotel was festive and relaxing. Many members only see each other at convention time.

Friday’s Trails meeting covered many topics relating the to Re-Ride. Each State President gave a synopsis of how the Re-Ride went in their State, the challenges and exciting highlights. Each State carried the special National Department of Transportation 250th USA Anniversary Flag somewhere in their State.

Saturday’s Meeting included the business end of NPEA. Evan -Green from the National Park Service gave a presentation on signage available from NPS for use on the Pony Express Trail. He also covered the NPS interactive map that is a major feature to support the NPEA Re-Ride online each year. There were 56,557 hits to see the map in 2026. Other business included reports from National Secretary and Treasurer, Committee Chairpersons, Old & New Business and plans for 2027.

Friday night’s entertainment was R.P. Smith, Cowboy Poet.

Saturday the attendees were treated to Dr. Joe Jeffrey’s “Mailbox Picture” presentation.

There were almost 100 items on the silent auction and bidding on them was lively throughout the 2 days.

Thank you, Nebraska, for a wonderful convention experience!
