Join us at the Fort Caspar Museum on Friday, June 19 at 11 a.m. where Reid Miller will share the history of the Pony Express and highlight the dedicated volunteers of the National Pony Express Association who relay commemorative mail across the historic route. Miller will also discuss the planning and coordination required to safely complete the Association’s round-the-clock, 10-day event.
Later, at 1:10 p.m. at the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center, the annual Pony Express Re-Ride will begin. This living history event commemorates one of the most iconic chapters in American transportation and communication history, bringing the legacy of the Pony Express to life through a continuous relay of riders across the original trail. This program is part of the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center’s ongoing series of educational events highlighting the people, places, and stories of America’s historic trails.
